UK Horse Racing resumes tomorrow (Wednesday)
Late last night, the BHA decided to lift the ban on UK horse racing, starting tomorrow (Wednesday). The ban was imposed following outbreaks of equine influenza (Flu).
On the one hand, this is great for the industry and punters in the short term, and yes, I understand that the shutdown is costing millions in lost revenue, BUT are we now running the risk of a pandemic?
If it were my decision (which it isn’t) I would err on the side of caution, and leave it a bit (a week?) just to be sure..
Only time will tell..
NOTE: NOT all horses / yards will be allowed to race. Any horse which has not been vaccinated in the last 6 months is barred, as are certain yards. Details will be released later.
